Valentine's day does not have to be a production. If you forgot to make dinner reservations, haven’t picked out a gift or don’t even know where to begin, don’t panic. You can still have a joyous day.

Let’s all remember that Valentine's Day is a day of love. A day to remember those you love and show someone that they are special to you. Whether its a boyfriend, girlfriend, best friend, or family member, take a moment to share your love with them.

Buying their coffee, surprising them at work or take a spontaneous adventure. Its memorial day weekend after all, take advantage of it.
You don’t have to go over the top. Its not the lack of extravagance that gets you in trouble, its the lack of thought. Be thoughtful, be loving.

That being said, expectation is the root of all heartache ladies. Graciously appreciate the small gestures and take pleasure in knowing you’re on someone's mind.

Hit up Wokcano on 5th street in Santa Monica for the I Heart Santa Monica VDay Bash. Go with the girls or on a date to celebrate your love for a beautiful city and what is promising to be a very fun night. The party starts at 9 and there will be complimentary hors d'oeurves for the first hour. Festivities also include themed cocktail specials, 2-for-1 oysters, complimentary "man"icures all night, DJ Frankie and a raffle.

If you’re flying solo this year and want to have some fun don’t go to the same old bar, hop on the metro line for a fun take on speed dating. You never know what may happen.

For couples looking for a traditional romantic date night feel, end your night with Cinefamily at the Silent Movie Theatre’s midnight screening of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The film is celebrating its tenth anniversary and is just as enchanting today as it was in 2004. This movie is one of my personal favorites and shows that while relationships aren’t perfect, sometimes people are just meant to be together.
