I’m thinking this might be a really good way to spend New Year's Eve. I can almost see myself in warm clothes, on the couch, eating Chinese and watching Ryan Seacrest (remember when it was Dick Clark?!). Here are the best movies, drinks and food for ringing the New Year in the comfort of your own home. Cheers to that! Note: Please watch one of these movies (or all of them) before the ball drops. You have to watch the ball drop. I mean you don’t have to, but the ball dropping is tradition. Come on.
1. New Year's Eve
Best paired with: red wine and pasta (the options are endless). Delivery places might be slammed on New Year's Eve, so plan ahead by buying the best frozen options or call in advance to your favorite Italian joint for a hassle-free experience.
2. When Harry Met Sally
Best paired with: your favorite white wine and an order from your favorite New York style deli. For extra fun: Order everything on the side like Meg Ryan did with that sandwich.
3. Bridget Jone's Diary
Best paired with: any kind of drink (seriously, I mean any kind as long as it has alcohol) and Macaroni and Cheese. Plus chocolate, lots of chocolate.
4. Trading Places
Best paired with: Your favorite beer and pizza. A "cheese only" option is ok, but we recommend switching it up; like the movie, get creative with a melange of toppings.
5. Sex and the City
Best paired with: Lemon Pie Martini or a Christmas Cosmo and Chinese food.
