This is for all my single ladies out there. Just because it’s Valentine’s Day and we don’t have dates doesn’t mean we can’t sip on yummy cocktails with our best friends. I say to hell with boys, romantic dates and flowers (just for tonight). Let’s celebrate the fact that we are independent, single and driven. Here are some Valentine’s Day cocktails that are perfect for you and are quite festive.
Red Valentine
The Red Valentine cocktail is the epitome of Valentine’s Day. It’s red, sugary and sweet plus there is tequila in it. I know they say diamonds are a girl’s best friend, but this drink just might replace that old saying.
Ingredients: 1.5 ounce of Patron silver tequila
Directions: Pour sugar into a shallow plate or bowl. Wet the rim of glass with the lemon wedge. Dip glass into the sugar. Fill glass with ice. Combine tequila, lemonade, and grenadine into a cocktail shaker. Fill with ice and shake for 45 seconds. Strain into the prepared sugar rimmed glass. Garnish with lemon wedge.
Bringing Sexy Back
The song will make you dance like a Valentine's Day vixen and the drink will give you an even a faster kick-start. The Bringing Sexy Back cocktail is one of our own and it tastes freakin' awesome.
Ingredients: 1 3/4 oz of Stoli White Pomegranik vodka
Directions: Layer ingredients and then add ice. Shake, strain and serve. Love Potion #9
The Clovers performed the song and Sandra Bullock stared in the movie of Love Potion #9, but now we have a drink for it. Fruity, delicious and sweet this drink will have you belting out the song, while watching the movie. I introduce, the Love Potion #9...
Ingredients: 1 ½ parts Cruzan 9 Spiced Rum
Directions: Shake all ingredients with ice and pour into a Hurricane glass. Garnish with a pineapple/cherry stack on the rim.
My Valentine
For all my girls with slight sweet tooth’s this is the drink for you. This My Valentine mini martini will satisfy your strawberry cupcake craving without the baking mess. It's easy, it's tasty and you'll crave more so be careful.
Ingredients: 2 oz Smirnoff Iced Cake Vodka
Directions: Layer ingredients in a glass or martini shaker (not garnishes). Add ice and shake well 3 to 4 times. Re-distribute mixed ingredients to a mini martini glass or tumbler with ice. Top with garnishes. Serve. Enjoy!
Raspberry Chocolate Kiss
Martha Stewart was pretty much on point in including this cocktail for Valentine’s Day. It has raspberries (but you can change it to blackberries if you desire) and chocolate and vodka. I don’t think you could say no to this drink even if you wanted to.
Ingredients:
Directions: Fill a shallow dish with enough simple syrup to just cover the bottom. Place crushed cookies into another shallow dish. Invert a martini glass into simple syrup and then immediately into crushed cookies to coat the rim of the glass. Place raspberries in a cocktail shaker; crush with a muddler. Add simple syrup and muddle again. Add vodka and cranberry juice; fill shaker with ice. Shake well until chilled. Strain into prepared martini glass. Serve immediately.
Valentine's Day Chocolate Martini
Chocolate lovers, your time has finally come. If you’re having a nice dinner with your friends and decide that you need something boozy and chocolate-y for dessert this is the martini for you. It’s heaven on earth.
Ingredients: 2 oz. base spirit (vodka, light rum or brandy) 1/2 oz white crème de cacao
Chocolate Kisses
We've included another chocolate concoction, Chocolate Kisses because Valentine's Day is all about chocolate and with this drink, there are no mystery fillings - it's pure palatte pleasure. Ladies, it's seriously liquid dessert.
Ingredients:
1.5 oz CIROC Amaretto 1 oz Bailey's Irish Cream .5 oz Godiva Chocolate Liqueur .25 oz Simple Syrup
Directions: Shake with ice. Stir. Serve in Snifter. Garnish with a strawberry.
Valentine’s Day can make even the most independent of girls sad, but not this year! We are saying goodbye to boys for a night, making yummy drinks and hanging out with our best girl friends. Don’t fret, ladies, Valentine’s Day is going to be even sweeter this year.
