Margaritas are a staple item whenever you step foot in a Mexican Restaurant. If the margarita isn’t good then you probably won’t come back for more. If you love margaritas like I do then I have some exciting news, it’s National Margarita Day on February 22nd. Yeah, you heard me right. There is an actual day celebrated for margaritas. Whether you want to celebrate at home by making your own or go out to eat and drink, I’ve got the best for both. Read on to find the BEST margarita recipes in Los Angeles and some fantastic margarita happy hours. Enjoy that tequila!
Cucumber Lavender Margarita
This margarita comes from Tortilla Republic in West Hollywood. The restaurant is influenced by modern Mexican cocktails and that California sunshine so you know this margarita is going to be good. Tip: try their $6 jalepeno margarita during happy hour too - you won't regret it.

Hearts & Tarts
TART restaurant isn’t a typically synonymous with Mexican food, but they just added this delicious fruity, tangy and bitter margarita to their menu. Mixologist Marcos Tello created it and hear it's one mezcal margarita you don't want to miss.

Loteria Grill has the some of the most authentic Latin Cuisine in Los Angeles. One of their most popular drinks is this Ginger Margarita; it delivers robust flavor and a tinge of natural sweetness from the pineapple juice. It’s a classic margarita.

More Mexican restaurants in Los Angeles to score that fantastic margarita...
Mercado
Mercado has to be one of the best Mexican Restaurants in LA. Influenced by Jose and Jesse’s Mexican roots, the restaurant is filled to the brim of delicious dishes, but since it’s National Margarita Day coming up let’s focus on that tequila. Including, but certainly not limited to the Mercado Margarita (100% agave silver tequila, triple sec, fresh sour) and the Margarita de Jamaica (hibiscus-infused reposado tequila, triple sec, fresh hibiscus, fresh sour). They also have happy hour on Saturday from 4PM-6PM so you can get those margaritas a little cheaper than usual. For Mercado's house-made margarita recipe, watch our video below!

Velvet Margarita
It’s in their name so you know they have to do it right. They have weekly specials on margaritas (ask your server for more information) and they have a ton of tasty margaritas. They have the classic margarita, a mango margarita and a margarita made with agave nectar, plus a special blend of fruit called the Ultimate Margarita. They open at 6PM on Saturday and don’t close until 2AM so I think you’ll be able to try every single one of their margaritas if you wanted to (and I think you’ll want to).

El Carmen
El Carmen has this Spicy Margarita that is just to die for. It's the El Carmen Classic with a kick of fresh jalapeños served on the rocks. Or if you aren’t a spicy person they also have fresh fruit margaritas with these flavors: fresh cactus fruit, watermelon, blood orange, mango and pomegranate. How great are those choices for a fruity margarita? El Carmen is one of the most laid back yet trendy Mexican Restaurants I’ve been into. The atmosphere is killer just like their margaritas. Open from 5PM-2AM.
