Have you ever wondered what to do with with your leftover wine corks? Do you keep your old corks for some stroke of genius craft idea you hope to discover down the road? Well, I do and I've finally came up with a holiday DIY gift idea that is easy, affordable and will leave your guests with some great memories: a wine cork Christmas ornament.

You can make these wine cork gifts in advance or you can make it a group activity at your gathering or party. Just make sure you haven't consumed too much wine before you start the construction process!

During the holidays, we tend to open up some fantastic bottles of wine to share with families and friends. Wouldn't it be great to remember that bottle you drank with them and the memories you created that day with a keepsake craft?

This wine cork craft is so easy and all you need are few at home materials. Ladies, I urge you to never throw away the left behind earring studs from an old pair. Whether you lost the other stud or you know you'll never wear them again, still keep them - they have found a new purpose! You will also need Christmas tree hooks, a push pin, wine corks and…that's it. You may want to use a pen or marker to date the cork and personalize it, but that's up to you. And if you are feeling really fancy, then bust out the glue and rhinestones and you'll will make an even bigger impression.

Make it:

Take your wine cork and press the push pin into the center, then remove. Next, grab your Christmas tree hook and extend one end until it's completely straight and then press it into the spot where you made the push pin indentation. To secure the tree hook in the cork, simply press the end of your earring stud in with the hook. You may need to apply a little extra pressure to make sure it goes all of the way in. And that's it! I recommend using a small organza gift bag to hold your new ornament so it has a more festive and gift-like feel. I hope you enjoy your new wine cork ornament and continue to fill your tree with holiday memories!
