Times Square is one of the brightest, busiest and all around coolest places in the world. The happy hours have to be just as cool so I rounded up some to try out for the tourists or the "by blood" New Yorkers. You might just stumble upon your new favorite happy hour destination. Note: all of the bars are near Times Square, but not all are on that avenue that shines the brightest. Don’t worry; the bars are worth the walk.
1. Latitude Bar & Lounge - The perfect place to relax after you get off work with happy hour deals that are tough to beat. The music will keep you bobbing your head until the bar closes.
Here are the specifics:
783 8th Ave
2. Pulse Karaoke - This Karaoke bar has almost every song you could ever want to shout from the top of your lungs. You can reserve a suite for you and your friends to make it private or just hang out in the main lounge with everyone else. Don’t forget about the 2 for 1 drinks they do during happy hour. Singing just got better.
Here are the specifics:
135 W 41st St
3. Schnipper’s Quality Kitchen - The best American food you will ever eat. They’ve got burgers, fries, tacos and chicken tenders plus the best American beers. They’re know their food and they definitely know their happy hour.
Here are the specifics:
620 8th Ave
4. Planet Hollywood - In the hustle and bustle of Times Square you don’t have to walk far to find this staple restaurant. The happy hour is only good in the bar, but the deals are totally worth it. They’ve got $15 pitchers of bud/bud light, $4 house vodka, rum or gin, $4 house wine, $6 cosmos and $6 apple martinis.
Here are the specifics:
1540 Broadway
5. The Pony Bar - A trendy and cool bar with cheap beers. Must hit up if you’re a beer lover since the brews change daily and you’ll never know what you’re in store for. It’s a bit into Hell’s Kitchen, but if you want to avoid the crowds of Times Square make sure to stop by plus the craft beers are $1 off during happy hour.
Here are the specifics:
637 10th Ave
6. Flute Bar Midtown - A swanky, hidden 54th street gem. It’s got a speakeasy type of feel about it and has a romantic ambiance. There’s a lot of shows being put on here so check the website for more details, but, as always, there is always happy hour to focus on. 2 for 1 drinks.
Here are the specifics:
205 W 54th St
