I’m very excited for the new year! I have some new goals, and I intend on following through on as many of them as I can. For one, I’ll cooking a cocktailing a ton more this year. I’m all about doing, because by doing you LEARN. So, anyone ready to learn a new drink recipe?
I have the BEST NYE cocktail for you! This is my FRENCHIE 75 - a take on the classic French 75, but pink. That is
not code for too sweet, FYI. They say this drink dates all the way back to 1920’s - an era I love. I simply added a raspberry-thyme simple syrup to make it extra beautiful with a subtle boost of fruity flavor.
This delicious New Year’s Eve cocktail is made with gin, lemon juice, the raspberry-thyme simple syrup and Champagne. You can only imagine how good it tastes – so try it!
Frenchie 75 Cocktail
Ingredients:
1 & 1/2 oz gin
3/4 oz *raspberry-thyme simple syrup
3/4 oz fresh lemon juice
ice
Champagne or sparkling wine
Garnish:
Raspberry, 1" thyme sprig, lemon peel.
Slice a small slit on the bottom of a raspberry, then place on lip of glass. Pierce the bottom of the raspberry with the pointy end of the thyme sprig to keep in place. Use a toothpick to secure both ends of the lemon twist once you wrap around thyme sprig.
Raspberry-Thyme Simple Syrup:
*Boil 6 oz of raspberries with 2 thyme sprigs, then remove from heat and let cool for 15-20 minutes. Strain out seeds and sprigs. Cover and refrigerate for up to 5 days .
Directions:
Add gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for 20 seconds. Strain into champagne or coupe glass and top with sparkling wine. Garnish. Enjoy!
